TEACHING
I am a violin and viola teacher who gives lessons in London. I teach students of all ages, starting with beginners to those studying for music degrees. I can teach modern, baroque and classical vioiln and viola, and specialise in helping people with set-up, and playing with less pain.
In addition to one-to-one lessons I teach Feldenkrais (body awareness movement) workshops in London. Please enquire to find out about the next sessions.
I am currently a senior violin and viola tutor at Hill House School International in Chelsea, London, where I teach one-to-one, and ensembles for all ages - (5 up to 11).
I also teach several adult learners, who just want to learn for their own enjoyment.
I usually teach from my home in Kings Cross WC1N, but can sometimes teach from my workshop in Hampstead, depending on my schedule.
I am DBS (formerly CRB) checked.
Please feel free to make enquiries about lessons by email by clicking here or by telephone.
I prepare students for ABRSM graded exams, university, A-Level and GCSE performance exams, concerts and competitions. I have experience of assisting students in their preparations for school music scholarship auditions.
I have given workshops at the Royal College of Music, Royal Northern College of Music, Birmingham Conservatoire, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the Musicians Union and East London Late Starters Orchestra on Body Awareness Through Movement. I have been a guest tutor at Aberdeen University, and Guildhall School of Music teaching period performance practice.
I bring twenty years of experience of both teaching and performing with me.
Where possible lessons are given face to face, however I can also give lessons over Skype or Zoom where travelling to central London is not possible.
